University of Ottawa Machine Design course project. The goal was to design a gear train for a cement mixer, significantly reducing output speed while amplifying torque, using only components available in existing catalogues.
Working in a team of three using SolidWorks:
- Analyzed shafts, gears, bearings, and gear keys against course constraints
- Sized each component to meet performance criteria
- Selected all parts from standard catalogues to reflect real-world availability
